Perez - Villa Signing Inevitable

Perez - Villa Signing Inevitable

18 June 2009 - 14:56

The returning Madrid President has spoken about Spanish striker David Villa and his supposed transfer to Los Blancos.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • It was thought that negotiations between Real Madrid and Valencia had broken down in the last week or so but Florentino Perez has moved to confirm that it is still very much his intention to sign the Spanish hit man.

"He is an excellent player that we must fit into our project. Manuel Llorente has to do what he has to do, as do I. The signing is just a matter of time,"

"Everything is being done in a friendly and cooperative way, and we have good relations with Valencia...It is not a movie with a good and a bad side. It is a case of rival and historic clubs who are going to fight for the league title."

Speaking after his side’s 1-0 win over Iraq yesterday in the Confederations Cup, Villa announced that he had already decided upon his future and it was just down to his agent and club to sort out the remaining details. That decision seems to be pointing towards the Spanish capital.
