Valenciennes FC striker Luigi Pieroni has emerged as a shock target for newly-promoted Burnley this summer. The Belgium international striker is valued by his club at approximately £2.5 million, and Burnley are ready to discuss terms.

Pieroni has spent the past few seasons in Ligue 1 with Valenciennes FC, but back in 2008 hinted that he would be willing to try his luck at Premiership football.



The Auxerre frontman has performed so well of late that several other clubs, including Marseille, have enquired about the availability of the player.
