Liverpool make offer for Upson

16 January 2010 - 09:25

There are rumours that Liverpool and West Ham are locked in talks regarding the transfer of Matthew Upson. Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has earmarked Upson as his primary transfer window target.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Upson has been one of West Ham's most important players over the past three years, but the Hammers are now preparing to let the former Arsenal and Luton man go as a huge transfer fee is being settled.

The figure suggested is in the region of £10 million for the England centre back.

Rafa Benitez is keen to sign Upson before the end of the January transfer window as he looks to win back the confidence of Liverpool fans.
