Fairytale win for Iraq

Iraq won the AFC Asian Cup 2007 for the first time in its history today, defeating Saudi Arabia 1-0 in the final, with the goal coming from Mohammed Younis.

  • Iraq completed a fairytale victory to prevent Saudi Arabia from winning the tournament for a record breaking fourth time. The wartorn country's side was made up of Sunni, Shi'ite and Kurdish players.
