Newcastle have finally completed the signing of Lille midfielder Yohan Cabeye in a £4.8 million deal for the Frenchman. Cabeye was influential in Lille's Ligue 1 winning campaign last year and has signed a five year contract at St James Park.
Yohan Cabeye, 25, is seen to be a replacement for Joey Barton who has been told that he can leave the club this summer and will not be offered a new contract.
Newcastle boss Alan Pardew said of the transfer, "We are delighted to have signed Yohan on a five-year contract - He will add great quality to our squad and I am really looking forward to working with him."
Cabeye said of the move, "This is a fantastic move for me. I have enjoyed great times with Lille but the time is right now to test myself against the best and playing for Newcastle United in the Premier League does just that."
