24 year old Udinese defender Cristian Zapata is set to sign for Liverpool, according to a report from his homeland Colombia. According to reports, The Reds will pay 7m GBP to land the centre back.

Several other teams were interested in the player, but it appears Liverpool have won the race for his signature.



"I do not know what to say, I can say that I am very close to Liverpool," he told La FM. "At the end of the Copa America, we will see what happens with my future."



"I have gained experience, but the time has come for me to make the jump to a big team."
