West Ham are waiting to find out whether Craig Bellamy will need an operation on his troubled groin. Hammers boss Alan Curbishley is hopeful that the injury sustained is not serious as his specialist in Germany decides whether surgery is necessary.
"Craig Bellamy has an ongoing groin problem and is seeing a consultant in Germany," Hammers assistant manager Mervyn Day told the club's official website.
"He may need an operation but we'll find that out later today [Thursday].
"I wouldn't have thought he'll be on international duty next week even it is the best case scenario."
