One of the first duties of Alex McLeish as coach of Aston Villa will be to sign and agree the sale of Ashley Young to Premiership rivals Man Utd in a 16m GBP transfer deal.
According to many reports, Ashley Young has already agreed terms with Man Utd and now the final hurdle will be for the two clubs to thrash out a deal.
The player has been expected to complete a transfer to Old Trafford for several weeks and the 25 year old winger, capped 15 times by England, has been earmarked as the eventual successor for Ryan Giggs who is expected to hang up his boots at the end of the 2011-2012 season.
Young has only one year left on his Villa deal and so the club are ready to let the player leave now instead of risk losing the player for free next year.
