According to reports on Monday morning, Lassana Diarra is being monitored by Manchester United and the Reds are weighing up a 16m GBP offer for the French international defensive midfielder, currently at Real Madrid.

Diarra has plenty of experience in the Premiership after short spells with Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth; prior to making a move to La Liga.



It is understood that Sir Alex Ferguson will bid 16m GBP to bring the 26 year old to the club.



Ferguson sees Diarra as a replacement for Paul Scholes, who retired last month.
