Valencia will stay at Man Utd

25 June 2011 - 05:14

Antonio Valencia will stay at Manchester United next season, despite the arrival of Ashley Young from Aston Villa. There had been some speculation that Alex Ferguson would let the former Wigan man leave the club.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • However, speaking in his home country of Ecuador, Valencia was quick to reject rumours that he might end up playing elsewhere next season.

‘I heard about this on the news - I do not fear his arrival,’ said the Ecuadorian.

‘The season is long, and under Alex Ferguson everyone will get their chance in United's key matches.

‘Ashley is a good footballer and I believe that he will help us towards even more success next season.

‘As for myself, I have two seasons left at United and I am convinced I will fulfil those. And maybe a few more years, too.’

There had been an unconfirmed report that Real Madrid were interested in the winger.
