Grant: Lampard could play

06 October 2007 - 01:13

Lampard is set to return for Chelsea this Sunday against Bolton Wanderers in the Premiership. The Chelsea midfielder, who has been recovering from a thigh injury that he suffered just before Aston Villa game, has been named today in England squad for Euro 2008 qualifiers against Estonia and Russia later this month.

  • Enzo Fernandez wants to leave Chelsea
  • Man Utd can finally sign Ederson for huge bargain fee
  • Blues boss Avram Grant said: "He’s trained very hard in the last two weeks and again in today’s training session. We will see tomorrow but he looks good.

"I would be happy if he is fit because he is an important player to us."

Skipper John Terry provided a great lift to Blues, playing with a face mask to protect his cheekbone injury in Champions League win at Valencia. And he will be forming the central defensive partnership with Ricardo Carvalho, who will return to Premiership action after being out with thigh problem for over a month.
