Bolton to sign Mears and Eagles
Bolton to sign Mears and Eagles
Bolton look set to complete a move for Burnley duo Chris Eagles and Tyrone Mears. Burnley were reluctant to lose two of their best players, but with their contracts expiring at the end of next season the club have decided to sell now.
Bolton had agreed a fee of £3m with Burnley for the signing of the duo, and both players will travel to the Reebok Stadium on Monday to discuss personal terms.
Owen Coyle had managed both whilst he was in charge at Burnley.
"Burnley had hoped to persuade the players to sign extensions to their present deals," read a Burnley club statement.
"However, with the players expressing their desire to immediately return to the Premier League, and effectively able to leave Turf Moor for free next summer, Burnley Football Club regrettably has accepted this offer from Bolton.
