Aston Villa chasing Tranquillo Barnetta

Aston Villa have been linked with an 8m GBP offer for Swiss international Tranquillo Barnetta. The Bayer Leverkusen man has played in the Bundesliga since 2004, and is thought to be looking for a big money move to England.

The Villains have struggled creatively this year, with highly rated midfielder Charles N'Zogbia so far struggling for form that made him a fan favourite at Wigan.


Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner has promised manager Alex McLeish up to 15m GBP of transfer funds in January, and Barnetta is believed to be at the very top of his wishlist.


The 26 year old has also been linked with a move to Everton in recent years, whilst Borussia Dortmund are also interested.
