Chelsea striker Ba wants to stay at the Bridge
Senegalese striker Demba Ba has expressed his desire to stay at the Stamford Bridge this season and fight for a place in the side.
The 28 year old moved to Chelsea in January earlier this year but failed to reproduce his Newcastle United form for the Blues.
New Chelsea boss has decided to keep Romelu Lukaku at the club for the next season and have already signed Germany international Andre Schurrle. It is believed that Ba doesn't feature in the Portuguese's immediate scheme and that he could be on his way out after spending just half a season at the club.
However, Ba welcomed the signing of new players and is looking forward to working with Jose Mourinho.
He said: “I think we need competition and we welcome the best players in this club.
“More competition is going to make me better anyway.
“Of course all players want to play, not only centre forwards.
“But we will all work in the same direction, for the club, to try and win the games. So yes, I will stay.”
