Borussia Dortmund general manager Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that he is fully aware of Polish striker Roberto Lewandowski's frustration.

The Bundesliga club have accepted defeat in their efforts to persuade Lewandowski into signing a contract extension.

The 24 year old, who is into the last year of his contract at the German club, has expressed his desire to join the European champions next season and has fended off interest from plenty of clubs.

The striker has been desperate to join Bayern this summer itself but the club remained firm over their stance to keep him even if it means losing him for free next summer.

Lewandowski told, shortly after his club's 4-2 victory over Bayern Munich in the Supercup fixture, that he gets along fine with most of the people at the club.

Watzke told the Bild newspaper that he fully expected such a feeling from the striker.

"Obviously he's referring to me," he said. "But I have got to make decisions for the good of this club.

"I can fully accept that Robert is a bit frustrated."
