Man Utd to make fresh move for Barcelona star?

Manchester United could make a fresh approach to sign Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong this summer, according to Sport.

The Red Devils were determined to land the Dutchman in the summer of 2022. A fee was agreed, but the midfielder refused to move on.

The Netherlands ace remains determined to stay with the Blaugrana, but there continues to remain speculation over his future at the club.

Sport claim that United are closely watching his situation and could make a renewed approach at the end of the current season.

His agent Jorge Mendes is keeping the door open for a big-money transfer. Barcelona could be prepared to sell De Jong for £60m.

Liverpool and Chelsea have also been linked with the former Ajax man, but as things stand, he is not contemplating a move elsewhere.

If De Jong were to leave the club, he could prioritise a move to Anfield due to the guarantee of Champions League football next term.
