WBA do battle with West Ham for Kalou signing

West Brom are the newest team to have made an offer for Salomon Kalou. The Lille forward is desperate to make a return to England and the Baggies have matched the £2.6m release clause in his contract.

A fee of £2.6m will trigger his minimum fee release clause from Lille and allow the Ivory Coast international an opportunity to speak to Premier League teams.


West Ham, Trabzonspor and Valencia are all in the race to sign Kalou; but West Brom are confident they can win the race to sign the player.


WBA's manager Steve Clarke has worked with Kalou before at Chelsea, and is reportedly trying his best to persuade the forward that a move North will benefit his career and international opportunities ahead of the World Cup.
