Grzegorz Krychowiak on Sunderland radar

Paolo Di Canio's busy summer spending spree will continue into next week as reports indicate Sunderland have made an enquiry for Reims' defensive midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak. The Poland international is valued at around 4 million Euros.

Then defensive midfielder, who has been playing in France since 2006 when he joined Bordeaux, has told his agent that he wants to make the step up and his dream is to play in the Premier League. The 6 foot 1 defensive star has two years remaining on his current contract.


The 23-year-old Poland international has played 9 times for his country and is expected to be an important part of their World Cup qualifying campaign for next year's showpiece tournament in Brazil.


Sunderland are hopeful that a deal will be wrapped up before the end of the transfer window.
