Tottenham agree Erik Lamela deal

Tottenham agree Erik Lamela deal

Tottenham are believed to have wrapped up a deal to sign Argentinian international midfielder Erik Lamela. According to reports from Italy, Spurs' director of football Franco Baldini had met with Roma executive Walter Sabbatini this morning and agreed on a £30 million transfer.

It is understood that Tottenham have agreed a deal with Roma and asked the Italian side to keep quiet until the Gareth Bale transfer is agreed, as they are concerned Real Madrid will continue to push the price of Bale's transfer down. Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has also been linked with a move for Brazilian forward Willian, but it appears that he will be joining Chelsea instead.

Lamela, 21, has been with the Italian side since 2011 and has scored an impressive 21 goals in 62 games whilst also has enjoyed some international recognition since his move to Italy from River Plate.

Tottenham are believed to have a medical planned for Lamela on Monday morning when a transfer will be officially announced.
