German Bundesliga side FC Schalke 04 have confirmed the signing of AC Milan's Ghanaian attacking midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng for a fee believed to be in the region of £10m after passing a medical today.

The move sees Boateng become Schalke's 6th summer signing this season, after Dennis Aogo came in on loan from Hamburg, Adam Szalai who signed from Mainz for £5m, Leon Goretzka, Christian Clemens and Felipe Santana.

Boateng scored twice in AC Milan's hammering of PSV Eindhoven on Wednesday in the Champions League playoff, but he will not be cup tied in the Champions League for Schalke, who were drawn against Chelsea, FC Basel, and Steaua Bucharest.

Boateng famously walked off the pitch last January after being subject to racist chanting from Italian side Pro Patria in their mid-season friendly game against Milan, prompting the rest of the Milan side to walk out of the game too.

The Ghana international played 74 games for Milan before moving to Schalke, scoring 10 goals and never really established himself as a starter in Massimilliano Allegri's side. He has previously played for Portsmouth, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspur and Hertha Berlina.
