Juventus director Marotta plays down Llorente rumors

Juventus director general Giuseppe Marotta has confirmed that there is no problem with new signing Fernando Llorente despite rumors suggesting he might be unsettled at the club.

Llorente, 28 years old, moved to the Stadio delle Alpi this summer for free after he refused to sign a new contract with his previous employers Atletico Madrid. The Spain international was left on the becnh for the majority of last season as a result of his refusal.

However, the prolific striker has been a peripheral figure in Juventus' season so far having made only one substitute appearance. This has led to a growing interest in a host of top European clubs but Marotta played down any rumors linking him with a move away.

"There is no Llorente problem. Don't forget that he didn't play that regularly last season," he said.

"When we sign a player and hand him a four-year contract, we're evidently not looking for immediate results in the space of one or two months.

"We believe in him and it is too early to judge."
