Mark Hughes- This could be Arsene Wengers last season at Arsenal unless he delivers a silverware

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has insisted that the pressure in on Arsene Wenger to deliver the goods at Arsenal this season, else it could be the last for him with the club.

Mark Hughes has not had a good time with the Gunners manager, having had a history of touchline squabbles in recent seasons.

According to the Daily Mirror, Hughes has admitted that the pressure in on Wenger to deliver a silverware to the North London outfit after a nine-year long wait , and the signing of Mesut Ozil has added more spice to the conquest.

Hughes said : "Does he have to win something? That is a given. It would be a big wrench, he has a big emotional attachment to the club and rightly so. He has led them in changing grounds and building different teams for different periods, so I can understand his reluctance to walk out on that.

"He is an honest man and he might think it is time to give someone else the opportunity to bring the trophies he hasn't been able to recently.

"Stoke supporters will be delighted the club's feud with Wenger will continue under their new manager, they have never forgiven the Arsenal manager for labelling them "a rugby team".

Hughes also admitted that he has not made up with Wenger since his reign at Manchester City where he refused to shake hands with the Frenchman in a League Cup tie.

Hughes added saying : "We've not made up. To be honest I'd forgotten about the handshake. I do have the utmost respect for him. On occasions I get a little bit emotional and try to protect my team.

"We get a bit silly.

"Usually you then park it and go on to the next game."

Stoke City faceoff against high flying Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium later today.
