Man Utd tracking Celta youngster Hugo Mallo

Celta Vigo defender Hugo Mallo is a target for Manchester United and Everton. The Premier League duo have sent scouts to watch the 22-year-old right back in action amidst talk of a January transfer window fight for his coveted signature.

The 5 foot 8 defender has become a mainstay at Celta Vigo and is one of the first names on the team sheet since breaking into the first team back in 2011. Mallo has gone on to enjoy international honours for Spain's under-21 side and attracted interest from all over Europe.


Mallo has only recently recovered from an ACL injury that saw him missing from action for over seven months during mid season last year, but since returning to training Mallo has started to show the very same progress that made him one of Spain's best young defensive prospects.


Everton and Man Utd would have to pay in the region of around 5 million Euros to land the player.
