Young French central defender Didier Digard is currently playing for Paris St. Germain after spending 3 years at Le Havre. The player is particularly versatile, capable of playing in defence or in midfield. This versatility was one of the reasons why coach Paul Le Guen snapped up the youngster.

When asked about Digard, Le Guen said, 'I had one look at Digard and instantly decided that he was the right sort of player for us. He still has a lot to learn but he definitely has potential. It is up to him to exploit his potential and it is up to us to help him develop it.'

Didier spent 8 years developing his craft at Le Havre, and his switch to PSG has proved he is ready for the big time. The 21-year old has the pace and strength to become a top class player in the middle of a combative midfield.

The vote of confidence was received by the developers of Football Manager, on the game Didier is one of those players you must sign early on in the game for a small fee, but later develops into a class player. Joking aside, Didier certainly displayed the qualities of a top class player during the Emirates Tournament in the games against Arsenal and Valencia.

Perhaps not quite ready for one of the big leagues, it won't be too long before some of the large clubs in Spain and England come knocking on PSG's door. Many are labelling Digard the 'next Makalele'; but more versatile, similar to Gilberto Silva.
