Arsenal scouting Sevilla right back Modesto

Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Sevilla's young 19-year-old right back Modesto Acosta in action. The highly rated defender has been linked with a move to the Gunners as a long term replacement for Bacary Sagna.

With contract talks with current first choice right back Sagna continuing to stall, it is understood that Arsenal are now looking elsewhere to find a potential replacement.


Whilst Modesto is not in the first team at Sevilla, he is expected to make the move up to the squad at some point this season.


The right back has three years left on his contract with the Spanish club, but as seen in the summer Sevilla are currently short of funds and have sold many of their young players to other teams. It is being reported that Modesto could leave the La Liga side for as little as 2.5 million Euros.
