Italian giants AS Roma have apparently edged Arsenal to the services of Barcelona starlet Antonio Sanabria.

The 17-year-old Paraguayan international has been the subject of a transfer battle between the two clubs since his denial to sign a new deal with the Catalan outfit.

However, Sanabria has revealed that he will join the Capital club in the summer, with the Giallorossi having triggered his £3.6m buy-out clause.

Sanabria is expected to join an Italian club during the winter transfer window in order to gain valuable football experience in the Serie A.

"I will go to Roma," the talented Paraguayan youngster said. "Roma already put the necessary money to the Spanish Federation for the clause asked by Barcelona. "

"I can't play for them for six months so I will soon go on loan to another Serie A team."

Sanbria has been capped three times by Paraguay.
