AC Milan to leave San Siro

Reports in Italy are suggesting that AC Milan and Inter have decided to end their combined use of San Siro with Milan moving out by the start of 2017 season. Both Italian giants have been using the stadium since the 1947-48 season.

Earlier reports had suggested that it would be the Nerazzurri who would be moving out but it has now emerged that the Rossoneri have been pushing with such plans under Barbara Berlusconi.

Speculation suggests that the Diavolo have been working on the plans to move out for past six months and are scheduled to begin construction by 2015. The plans are to construct the new stadium six kilometers to the North-West, where Expo 2015 is to be held.

The News is set to be confirmed in the next month or so.

The ground is set to host the 2016 UEFA Champions league final.
