Newcastle striker close to Rubin Kazan transfer?

Newcastle United's Senegalese striker Papiss Cisse could be set for a move to Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan before the end of the month.

The talented Senegalese forward is considered as a top transfer target for Kazan, having failed in their attempts sign PSV Eindhoven's Tim Matavz.

A report from the Chronicle claims that Kazan will make a bid in the region of £9m for the player's services before Russian transfer window deadline on the 27th of February.

Cisse has failed to make any notable impact with the Magpies this season, having scored a solitary goal in 16 league appearances so far.
