ELANO JETS IN TO MAN CITY

Elano has become the third signing of the day for Man City as he signs from Shakhtar Donetsk. The Brazilian midfielder has signed a 4 year deal and the transfer fee is estimated to be worth around £8m to Shakhtar. Elano is a very talented creative midfielder who can play up front and has represented Brazil at the highest level on many occasions.

Sven Goran Eriksson's spending has continued to shock the rest of the league with his signings; and it looks as if Thaksin has written the Swedish coach a series of blank cheques.

Coincidentally, Shakhtar were the side that purchased Man City target Nero Castillo, and have released Elano to pay the fees for the Mexican.

Elano scored his first 2 goals for Brazil in a 3-0 victory over Argentina.
