Liverpool prepare bid for Jackson Martinez

Liverpool are reportedly readying a bid of around £27.5m for Porto striker Jackson Martinez, according to The Star.

The Colombian international is regarded as one of the best strikers in the Primeira Liga and has attracted interest from a number of top European clubs over the past year.

The Star reports that the Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen on signing up a genuine goalscorer in the upcoming transfer window, and considers Martinez as best option for the role.

Liverpool are currently ninth in the Premier League with 21 points.
