Liverpool approach for Monaco defender

Liverpool have made an an enquiry over the availability of AS Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour this summer.

Abdennour has been impressive for the Principality outfit since his move from Toulouse in 2014.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were earlier linked with a move for the Tunisian international, but his agent has revealed that the Reds had made contact with Monaco over a potential deal for the central defender.

The 25-year-old made 24 appearances for Monaco in all competitions last season.
