Poyet calms Robbo axe
Tottenham number 2 coach Gustavo Poyet has played down the importance of Paul Robinson's not playing against Arsenal in the Carling Cup last night after Radek Cerny took charge in goal. Poyet stressed that Robinson would not be leaving the club anytime soon.
"The problem is, I think, for everyone - for you, me or any kind of supporter - that when you change a player in the other 10, and not the goalkeeper, it looks like it is easy for everyone to understand," Poyet told Sky Sports News.
"When somebody changes the goalkeeper, it becomes breaking news, but it's another decision - there is nothing different between the goalkeeper and a player that is part of the team.
"Managers have to make decisions. I always say football is about decisions and trying to make the right decisions as a manager, and the players have to make the right decisions during the game.
"There is nothing behind that, nothing. There is nothing you can think about what is going to happen in the next few weeks or next few months, it was just a decision to play Radek."
