Andrea Ranocchia to Liverpool?

Liverpool have reportedly joined Norwich City in the race to sign Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia.

The Italy international is deemed surplus to requirements at the Nerazzurri, and is expected to be sold during the winter transfer window.

Speculation had claimed that the 27-year-old could be heading to the Premier League with the Canaries having placed a formal offer for his services.

However, the player dismissed the approach as he was not keen on a move to a relegation-threatened outfit.

Sky Italia now claims that the Reds have stepped up their interest in the central defender, and are hopeful that he could be tempted by the Anfield experience.

Ranocchia has had just 210 minutes of league football this season.
