Arsenal attacker Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with a surprise move back to his former club Southampton. The England international has struggled to live up to his promise since his switch from the South Coast in 2011.
The 22-year-old's future has been the topic of speculation in recent weeks with the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea believed to be monitoring his situation.
However, The Mirror understands that Oxlade-Chamberlain could be in line for a return to the Saints, where he made his name as a youth product.
The youngster has racked nearly 150 appearances for the Gunners, and has been part of the side that has won the FA Cup in the past two seasons.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is currently nursing a knee problem, is expected to be fit for this summer's European championships.
