Sofiane Boufal on brink of Southampton move
Southampton are set to announce the signing of Sofiane Boufal from Lille on a club-record deal. The Moroccan international was previously on the radar of Arsenal and Chelsea.
Boufal, 22, has turned into one of Ligue 1's most promising talents, and this has captured interest from numerous clubs.
The midfielder had set his sights on a Premier League move earlier this summer with the Gunners and Blues keeping an eye on his situation.
But, it is the Saints, who have coughed up a record £20m sum for his services, and the deal is likely to go through before the end of the week.
Boufal is a full international with Morocco having earned his debut against Cape Verde Islands in March. The attacker has notched 15 goals and 10 assists since joining Lille in January 2015.
