Watford favourites to sign Paul-Georges Ntep

Premier League side Watford are apparently in the front seat to sign Rennes forward Paul-Georges Ntep. The France international has failed to finalize a fresh deal with Les Bretons and looks set to leave the club in the New Year.

According to Le 10 Sport, the likes of Marseille and Bordeaux have expressed interest in pursuing the player's services, but it is Watford who hold the advantage after they agreed to offer a much better wage package.

Ntep has not quite lived to his expectations due to his recurring injury concerns, and Rennes would take a fee of around £4m for his sale in January.

The arrival of the Frenchman would provide an additional dimension to the Hornets attack which has impressed under the leadership of Troy Deeney.

Watford have once again made a bright start to their campaign, and find themselves eighth with 18 points.
