The 21 year old French midfielder has made 55 appearances for the club.

There were doubts that Diaby's future was in doubt and he was looking to move elsewhere, but now this can all now be put to rest as he commits his furture to the club.

The next job for Wenger is to get in-form midfielder Matthieu Flamini to sign a new cintract.

The 23-year-old Frenchman is out of contract in the summer and talks are on-going.

Wenger said: "I am hoping to finalise it. He wants to stay, and I want him to stay - so we will find an agreement.

"I am not especially concerned, because I believe what he tells me."
