Alex signs for Chelsea

25 year old defender Alex has now officially signed for Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven. A statement on Chelsea's website read, "Alex Rodrigo Dias da Costa today passed a medical and signed a three-year contract with Chelsea."

The player had provisionally been sent to PSV on loan after Chelsea purchased the player from Santos in 2004. The player was part of the Brazilian Copa America winning side and scored the goal last season that knocked Arsenal out of the Champions League.

The player did have some work permit problems that required some sorting out, but it looks like Chelsea have finally decided to bring in the player known as "The Tank".
