Chelsea favourites to re-sign Romelu Lukaku
Chelsea will reportedly emerge as frontrunners to sign Romelu Lukaku, should Everton decide to cash in on his services in the summer.
The Belgium international had been expected to ink a contract extension earlier in the month after his agent Mino Raiola admitted that the deal was '99.999999' percent complete.
However, the striker has since made U-turn over his decision, and he is now in no condition to sign a new deal owing to the club's lack of ambition.
According to The Mail, the Blues are keeping a close watch on their former player, who could be available for around £60m in the summer.
Lukaku currently has more than two years left on his existing deal, but the lack of breakthrough in negotiations could urge the Toffees to sell the marksman, who cost them £28m from Chelsea in 2014.
The Belgian footballer became the first Everton player to net 20 goals in a single Premier League season after he achieved the feat via late brace in the 4-0 thrashing of Hull City.
