Leicester City make £17m offer for Hull City defender

Leicester City have reportedly placed a £17m offer on the table to sign Hull City defender Harry Maguire in the summer. The 24-year-old is also a transfer target for fellow Premier League rivals Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
According to The Sun, the former English champions have stepped up their interest in Maguire with an official bid as they look to fend off interest from other suitors.
Maguire has already snubbed a fresh contract extension beyond next summer, and the Tigers in all likeliness sell the defender rather than losing him on a free at the end of next season.
The former Sheffield United man was hugely instrumental in the three-at-the-back for the Tigers last term, but his best efforts were not sufficient to keep the club in the top flight.
Maguire had not been a regular during his initial years with Hull, but he stepped to make up a huge impression last season with 36 outings across all competitions.
The 2018 World Cup remains a dream for any uprising player, and Maguire will have the ambition to earn a maiden call-up to England squad ahead of the major showpiece event.
