Sorensen off to Barnsley

Thomas Sorensen could be set for a shock loan move to Barnsley. The Aston Villa number two is reportedly unhappy with his lack of opportunities at the Villains after falling behind Scott Carson in the pecking order.

Tykes boss Simon Davey was cagey on the matter, but refused to rule out a swoop for the 31-year-old Premiership star.

“I’ve seen the rumours about Thomas Sorensen, but I’m not going to confirm or deny anything,” Davey told the Express and Star.

“I’m sure we’ll get the person we want. If not, we will go with Kyle Letheren.”
