Salah in line for bumper Reds deal

Egypt international Mohamed Salah is reportedly in line for a new Liverpool contract following a sensational debut season under Jurgen Klopp.

The 25-year-old has amassed 43 goals over the course of the current campaign and he needs to score another five times to surpass Ian Rush's record tally (47) set during the 1983/84 season.

According to The Sun, the Reds are well aware of the ongoing interest from Real Madrid and this has increased the need to discuss a new deal with the attacker.

Salah is currently on a weekly wage of around £90,000 and the supposed extension would see him earn twice the salary with the Merseyside club.

Reds boss Klopp has shown a keen desire to commit key players to long-term contracts and Firmino has been the most recent to have been handed a fresh five-year deal.

Liverpool were helpless in keeping hold of Coutinho earlier this year but they are keen to avoid such a circumstance in the future as they make a push for title honours next term.
