United prepare Rashford extension

Manchester United are reportedly prepared to reward Marcus Rashford with a new bumper contract amid suggestions that he is unsettled at his hometown club.

The England international has been restricted to regular starts during the second half of the campaign and this has spread speculation over his long-term future at the club.

According to The Sun, the forward has already made his feelings known to his close friends and this has alerted the United hierarchy ahead of the summer transfer window.

Rashford is currently on a £60,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford and the board are now prepared to offer him with a £40,000 wage hike in order to prolong his stay.

The 20-year-old has made just 16 starts for Manchester United in the Premier League this term with most of his gametime coming off the substitutes' bench.

He most recently featured for United in the final game of the Premier League campaign where he bagged the only goal in a 1-0 triumph over Watford.
