Manchester United are reportedly planning contract discussions with Ashley Young with his existing deal due to expire at the end of the season.

The 33-year-old has been converted into a versatile full-back in the past few seasons and he has regularly featured on the right side of the defence this term with Antonio Valencia on the sidelines.

According to The Mirror, the former Watford graduate remains keen on extending his stay with the Mancunian giants and talks are likely to be underway over an extension beyond the current campaign.

Despite this, United are only expected to reward him with a one-year deal on his current £130,000-a-week wages and it remains to be seen whether the Englishman would accept such a deal at the current phase of his career.

Young has been with the Red Devils since the summer of 2011 and over the past seven-and-a-half seasons, he has managed over 210 appearances for the club across all competitions.
