Manchester United receive boost in signing Real Madrid defender?
Manchester United have reportedly been put on high alert after receiving the news that Raphael Varane may part ways with Real Madrid at the end of the season.
The France international has been with Los Blancos over the past seven-and-a-half seasons and during this period, he has racked over 300 appearances for the Madrid giants while winning four Champions League crowns and one La Liga title.
Despite this, L'Equipe claims that the Frenchman is considering a fresh challenge elsewhere in the summer and this has caught the eye of United, who have been long-term admirers of his services.
United have been regularly linked with Varane over the past few seasons and the defender has personally acknowledged that he had previously snubbed an approach from United.
Varane presently has more than three years remaining on his existing deal with Los Blancos and United would still have to pay a world-record fee for a defender to lure him from the outgoing European champions.
