Nicolas Tagliafico speaks on his Ajax future amid Arsenal link

Argentine footballer Nicolas Tagliafico has assured Ajax supporters that he will be staying put with the club next season amid the speculated interest from Arsenal.

The left-sided defender has enjoyed a sublime season with the Eredivisie side, who are leading their league standings while making it to the final and semi-final phase of the KNVB Cup and Champions League respectively.

Amidst this, a number of the players in the current squad have been touted for big-money moves at the end of the season, but Tagliafico has clarified that he won't be heading through the exit door this summer.

"Hello fans, how are you? I want to tell you that I will stay for one more season. Hopefully it will be a great year, like it is this year. A hug to all of you," he wrote on his official Instagram account.

Aside from Tagliafico, club-captain Matthijs de Ligt has also been heavily linked with a summer departure but the Dutchman has yet to clarify the stance over his future at the club.

Ajax have already sanctioned the sale of Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona ahead of the summer but chief Edwin van der Sar has recently indicated that the club won't seek to break the core of the squad.
