Sevilla mourn Puerta

Sevilla's defender Antonio Puerta has died after collapsing in the match between his club with Getafe. The player looked to have recovered, but, collpased again in the changing room. After being sent to the hospital, and put in intensive care, Puerta passed away on Tuesday morning.

Team mates and medical staff had rushed to his side and were seen preventing him from swallowing his tongue as he lost consciousness.

He was taken from the field of play to the changing rooms before collapsing again, then taken to the hospital. The Sevilla chairman described Puerta as "seriously ill" and in intensive care.

Puerta, 22, was regarded as one of the better young talents in Spanish football and Sevilla had their UEFA Champions League tie postponed this evening.
