Arsenal to miss out on Dayot Upamecano?
Arsenal could miss out on the services of Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig amid the reported interest from Spanish champions Barcelona.
The Gunners had made an approach to sign the Frenchman last summer but they were unable to convince Leipzig with their £55m bid.
Back then, Upamecano had a £70m release clause on his contract but that is expected to drop to £53m at the end of the current campaign.
According to TalkSPORT, the Gunners will revive their interest in Upamecano this summer but their chances of signing him seem bleak.
It is added that the Blaugrana have joined the pursuit of his services and Arteta's side won't have an easy job of luring the centre-back ahead of the Spanish champions.
Aside from the Blaugrana, Bayern Munich have also been credited with an interest in the Frenchman as they seek to replace Jerome Boateng in their ranks.
Arsenal return to Premier League action following the winter break with a home game against Newcastle United. They will be aiming to end a run of four league draws.
