Glazers: Utd not for sale

The Glazer family has issued a statement insisting Manchester United is not for sale in response to reports of an overseas takeover.

A spokesman for the family said: "Manchester United is not for sale. The Glazer family are not engaged in any discussion with any prospective bidder and it is not courting bidders for Manchester United."

The Glazers paid £790million for the Premiership champions over two years ago.

Rival investors from China and Dubai were reportedly preparing a £1billion offer for the Old Trafford club, but the Glazers have moved to quash the speculation by insisting they have not been approached by potential buyers.
