Aston Villa close in on Jussi

Aston Villa are reportedly set to complete the signing of Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen. The keeper has decided to see out the remainder of his contract at Bolton.

Bolton were keen to tie the Finn to a new long term deal, but the keeper has decided that his future lies elsewhere and the opportunity Villa presents he considers an interesting one.

Aston Villa are set to miss out on the permanent signing of Liverpool's on-loan goalkeeper Scott Carson, and Martin O'Neill is ready to make Jaaskelainen the replacement.
